CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A STIPULATION <br />FOR ENTRY OF JUDGMENT IN THE CASE OF SOUTHERN IONICS , INC. AND <br />HOUSTON CHEMICAL SERVICES INC., PLAINTIFFS, VS. THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE TEXAS (Ord 94-2003) - R.T. Herrera <br />After a brief review, Council decided to take Item 6 and 7 to <br />executive session for further discussion. <br />8. CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND SCI CONTRACTORS, INC. FOR <br />CONSTRUCTION OF CURBS AND 2" HOT MIX ASPHALT CONCRETE WEARING <br />SURFACE ON SOUTH "M" STREET FROM STATE HIGHWAY 146 NORTHBOUND <br />FRONTAGE ROAD TO SOUTH 8TH STREET (Ord'. 94-2004) - C. <br />Harrington <br />City Engineer Fred Thompson reviewed for Council the summary <br />and recommendation regarding the execution of a construction <br />contract with SCI Contractors, Inc. Council had questions <br />regarding the addendum. City Manager Robert T. Herrera <br />suggested the vote be delayed until Fred Thompson could leave <br />the Council meeting and return with the necessary information <br />to answer Council's questions. <br />9. CONSIDER APPROVING FUNDS FOR CITY OF LA PORTE PORTION OF THE <br />HUNDRED CLUB OF HOUSTON INC. DONATION FOR A NEW RADIO <br />DISPATCH, MODULAR RADIO CONSOLE SYSTEM, AND APPROVE ADDITIONAL <br />FUNDS FOR NECESSARY MODIFICATIONS TO DISPATCH AREA - B. Powell <br />Lt. Aaron Corrales reviewed the summary and recommendation <br />regarding the radio console for the Communications office at <br />the City of La Porte Police Department. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Thrower to approve S 47,789 <br />to fund the City's portion of the project and a S10,000 <br />contingency fund. Second by Councilperson McLaughlin. The <br />motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />
