CONSIDER APPROVING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FEE POLICY AND <br />SCHEDULE FOR OUTDOOR MUNICIPAL SWIMMING POOLS (Ord. 95-1644-D) <br />- S. Barr <br />Director of Parks and Recreation reported summary and <br />recommendation regarding request to amend fee policy and <br />schedule for outdoor municipal swimming pools. <br />After Council and staff discussion led by City Manager Robert <br />T. Herrera, the following changes were made to the policy. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gay to reduce the rate for 60 <br />years and over (Senior Citizens) from the proposed $2.00 to <br />$1.00 per person. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion <br />carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE NO. 95-1644-D - AN <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING A FEE POLICY AND SCHEDULE FOR OUTDOOR <br />MUNICIPAL SWIMMING POOLS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to approve <br />Ordinance 95-1644-D as amended. Second by Councilperson <br />Thrower. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />9.A. CONSIDER A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FORWARD <br />MAYOR NORMAN MALONE'S LETTER DATED FEBRUARY 24, 1995, TO <br />GOVERNOR GEORGE W. BUSH AND OTHER RECIPIENTS, AND REAFFIRMING <br />THE CITY'S DESIRE TO WORK COOPERATIVELY WITH HOUSTON CHEMICAL <br />SERVICES (Res. 95-03) - R. T. Herrera <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera recommended Council continue <br />with the remainder of the Agenda and go into executive session <br />with 9.A. <br />
