When the service pin <br />program was first begun, quotes from several companies were obtained and Terryberry, a <br />company in Grapevine, Texas was awarded the bid and has continued to serve the City in this <br />capacity for each subsequent year. This year, due to the number of employees who are eligible <br />to receive service pins, the cost will be $5,971.20 (20 five year, 13 ten year, 11 fifteen year, <br />3 twenty year, and 1 twenty-five year). <br />To award this bid to another company would encompass an additional tool and die charge of <br />approximately $400. The pins purchased from Terryberry in the past have been of high quality <br />and each pin matches all previous awards. <br />Staff is requesting that Terryberry be declared a sole source and service pins for 1995 be <br />purchased from them for the amount stated above.
