<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />September 25, 1995, Page 4 <br /> <br />DEMOLISHING, INC., FOR DEMOLITION OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS; <br />APPROPRIATING NOT TO EXCEED $19,500.00 TO FUND SAID CONTRACT; MAKING <br />VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson McLaughlin to approve Ordinance 95-2064 as read by the <br />City Attorney. Second by Councilperson Cooper. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and <br />Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Mayor Malone asked Council to refer back to item 4 - Proclamation. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />FRED HARTMAN BRIDGE OPENING DAY - <br /> <br />LA PORTE BA YSHORE <br />CHAMBER OF COMMERCE <br /> <br />Mayor Malone proclaimed Wednesday, September 27, 1995, as Fred Hartman Bridge Opening <br />Day. Chairman of the Board of the La Porte - Bayshore Chamber of Commerce Barry Beasley, <br />and Chairman of the Board Elect, Mike Skowronek received the proclamation. Mr. Beasley <br />thanked Council for their consideration and stated, "Weare glad to work with the City on the <br />Ribbon Cutting Ceremony which is coming up." <br /> <br />Dr. P. J. Mock, Jr. returned to the Council table and passed out tickets to the upcoming Ducks <br />Unlimited banquet to be held on Wednesday evening, September 27, 1995, and he stated Council <br />could either make a donation tonight or at the door when they attend the banquet. He also <br />introduced Regional Director of Ducks Unlimited, Mr. Roy Johnson. <br /> <br />9. CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A INTERWCAL <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND HARRIS-GALVESTON <br />COASTAL SUBSIDENCE DISTRICT, FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE DISTRICT'S <br />"LEARNING TO BE WATER WISE AND ENERGY EFFlCIENT" PROGRAM <br />(Ord. 95-2065) - S. Gillett <br /> <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Buddy Jacobs reviewed with Council the summary and <br />recommendation for the request. After a question from Councilperson Cooper, Mayor Malone <br />asked City Attorney Knox Askins to read the caption for Ordinance 95-2065. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 95-2065 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE <br />AND THE HARRIS-GALVESTON COASTAL SUBSIDENCE DISTRICT, FOR <br />PARTICIPATION IN THE DISTRICT'S "LEARNING TO BE WATER WISE AND ENERGY <br />EFFICIENT" PROGRAM; APPROPRIATING NOT TO EXCEED $2,744.00 TO FUND SAID <br />CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE <br />
