Second by Councilperson Maxwell. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and <br />Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Councilperson Porter asked City Manager Robert T. Herrera if the City of Bellaire purchased <br />credits to avoid going to Surface Water and how many. Mr. Herrera said the City of La Porte <br />has some questions regarding this matter. He said it was our understanding this was on a <br />temporary basis, and Bellaire will still be required to go to surface water. Mr. Herrera said he <br />is meeting with the Subsidence District tomorrow on this particular item. <br /> <br />10. CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND THE CITY OF MORGAN'S POINT FOR <br />EMERGENCY 911 DISPATCH AND JAIL SERVICE, FIRE PROTECTION, AND <br />EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICE (Ord. 95-2066) - R. T. Herrera <br /> <br />City Manager R. T. Herrera reviewed the summary and recommendation for the request to <br />approve the agreement with the City of Morgan's Point for government services. After Council <br />discussion and questions from Councilperson Sutherland the City Attorney read Ordinance 95- <br />2066. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 95-2066 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND THE CITY <br />OF MORGAN'S POINT, FOR EMERGENCY 911 DISPATCH AND JAIL SERVICE, FIRE <br />PROTECTION, AND EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICE; MAKING VARIOUS <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council person Clarke to approve Ordinance 95-2066 as read by the City <br />Attorney.
