0 0 <br />Office of the Mayor <br />TDlI <br />®prPt�Jr La Pone Independent School District is an important <br />and integral pan of our community; and <br />WHEREAS, all children deserve a high quality, free and public education; and <br />WHEREAS, Texas has historically been dedicated to a strong system of <br />education and for more than 40 years special emphasis has been placed upon education with the <br />observance of Texas Public Schools Week; and <br />WHEREAS, the 1990's and beyond hold the responsibility for Texans to meet <br />the opportunities and demands for the future; and <br />WHEREAS, a joint effort must be made by parents, schools and the community <br />working together toward a common commitment for preparing our children to be tomorrow's <br />leaders; and <br />WHEREAS, public schools are preparing and educating today s students to <br />become tomorrow's leaders. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, NORMAN L. MALONE, MAYOR of the <br />City of La Porte, do hereby proclaim March 10 through 16, 1996, as <br />TEXAS PUBLIC SCHOOLS WEEK <br />in the City of La Pone, and urge all citizens to make a commitment to public education and to <br />the future of La Porte children by visiting their local public schools and by contributing their <br />time and talents to enhance their local public school system. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal <br />of the City to be affcred hereto, this the 26th day of February, 1996. <br />CITY OF LA PORTE <br />Norman L.
