<br />1. CALL TO ORDER
<br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman L. Malone at 6:00 P.M.
<br />

<br />In the absence of Rev. Jorge Reynaga, Rev. Randy Gilchrist, pastor of the First Baptist Church, delivered
<br />the invocation.

<br />3. CONSIDER APPROVING MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 28, 1996
<br />
<br />Motion was made by Counciloerson Coooer to aoorove the minutes of October 28 as oresented. Second
<br />by Councilperson McLaughlin. The motion carried, 9 ayes, 0 nays.
<br />
<br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and
<br />Mayor Malone
<br />Nays: None

<br />4. PROCLAMATIONS:
<br />
<br />A. 1996 AMERICAN LEGION POST 428 BASEBALL TEAM DAY
<br />
<br />Mayor Malone proclaimed November 11, 1996, as 1996 American Legion Post 428 Baseball Team Day
<br />and presented each coach, team member, and the American Legion Post 428 with a proclamation. Mayor
<br />Pro Tem Alton Porter assisted Mayor Malone and presented each coach and team member with a City of
<br />La Porte lapel pin. Commander Buford Leonard, representing American Legion Post 428, La Porte,
<br />Baseball Commissioner Ed Rozell, representing District 22, and Division #2, State of Texas, American
<br />Legion, presented certificates to the team members and their coaches.
<br />
<br />Adjutant Bill White, American Legion Post 428, presented the Hovey Bethea Powell Sportsman Award to
<br />Bobby Herrera.
