• Minutes Regular Meeting La Porte City Council April 14, 1997, Page 9 • City Attorney read: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE IV, SECTION 25-64, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE BY ADDING RESTRICTIONS ON THE PARKING OF TRUCKS BEARING A DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION PLACARD; FURTHER AMENDING CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE V, SECTIONS 25-81, 25-84, 25-84.1, 25-85 AND 25-89 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, REAFFIRMING RESTRICTIONS ON LOCATION OF TRUCK TERMINALS, ADVISING DESIGNATION OF TRICK ROUTES WHICH ACCURATELY REFLECT STREET NAMES, REVISING DESIGNATION OF HAZARDOUS CARGO ROUTES; PROVING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND SHALL UPON CONVICTION BE FINED AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00); CONTAINING SEVERABILITY AND REPEALING CLAUSES; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson Maxwell to approve Ordinance 97-2172 as read by the C~ Attorney,. Seconded by Councilperson Gay. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Cooper, McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone Nays: None 10. CONSIDER APPROVAL OR OTHER ACTION REGARDING THE PURCHASE OF RADIOS AND PAGERS FROM HGAC - S. Kelley Purchasing Agent Susan Kelley reviewed the summary and recommendation to authorize the purchase of radios and pagers from HGAC in the amount of $24,127.43. Motion was made by Councilperson McLaughlin to approve the Purchase of these items from HGAC. Seconded by Councilperson Cooper. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone Nays: None 11. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS City Manager Robert T. Herrera reported on the Police Overtime Program, The Texas Special Olympics that was hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department and the La Porte Independent School District on April 11 and 12, 1997, and a memorial dedication to Councilperson Robert (Bob) Thrower.
