CONSIDER APPROVAL OR OTHER ACTION REGARDING AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 898 TOWN OF LA FORTE, HARRIS COUNTY (Ord. 97-2171) - G. Rankin Director of Planning Guy Ranking reviewed the summary and recommendation to approve Ordinance 97-2171 to close, vacate, and abandon the alley of Block 898 in the Town of La Porte. City Attorney read: AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 898, TOWN OF LA FORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve Ordinance 97-2171 as read by the City Attorney. Seconded by Councilperson McLaughlin. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. Powell Chief of Police Bobby Powell reviewed the summary and recommendation to approve Ordinance 97-2171 to adopt Amended Truck Route Ordinance.
