Maltsberger to the Board of Adjustment <br />Alternate 2 position. <br /> <br />City Attorney Knox Askins presented summary and recommendation. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 98-2271 - AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING <br />MEMBERS TO VARIOUS BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES, OF <br />THE CITY OF LA PORTE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; <br />CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to approve the Ordinance as presented <br />by the City Attorney. Seconded by Councilperson Griffiths. The motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Gay and Mayor <br />Malone. <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />23. Council considered voting for Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool <br />Board of Trustees nominee in places 6 through 9. <br /> <br />Administrative Services Director Louis Rigby presented summary and addressed <br />Council's questions. Mr. Rigby advised Council there was a letter in their packet from <br />Mr. Herrera recommending the incumbents in all four places. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Engelken to approve the recommendation as <br />presented by Mr. Ril!by. Seconded by Council person Ebow. The motion passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Gay and Mayor Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Council person Sutherland not present during voting. <br /> <br />24. Council considered approval of the consent agenda as follows (any item may be <br />removed by a Councilperson for discussion): <br /> <br />A. Award bid for replacement of gymnasium floor to Miller Sports Floors for the <br />Recreation Fitness Center. <br /> <br />B. Award bid for sections I & II to Carr's City Tire Service and for Section II to A & <br />Z Tire and Battery. <br /> <br />C. Award bid for annual traffic signal maintenance to Southwest Signal Supply, Inc. <br />with two one year options. <br />
