Council considered approving an Ordinance authorizing agreement with White Petrov <br />and McHone for auditing services for a three year period (September 20, 1998, 1999 <br />and 2000). <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager Jeff Litchfield presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council questions. In addition, Mr. Litchfield introduced Robert Belt of <br />White Petrov and McHone in case Council needed additional information. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 98-2282 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND <br /> <br />WHITE PETROV MCHONE, CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS, FOR <br />AUDITING SERVICES; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson En~elken to approve the Ordinance as presented by <br />the City Attorney. Seconded by Councilperson Ebow. The motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilperson Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Gay and Mayor Malone. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />21. Council considered approving an Ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute a <br />contract with USA Environmental for the construction of a Fleet Fueling Facility in the <br />amount of $273,650.00. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council questions. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 98-2283 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND USA <br />WASTE INDUSTRIAL SERVICES, INC., FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A <br />FLEET FUELING FACILITY; APPROPRIATING $273,650.00, TO FUND SAID <br />CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO <br />THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council person Gay to approve the Ordinance as presented by the <br />City Attorney. Seconded by Councilperson Griffiths. The motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Gay and Mayor <br />Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />
