Seconded by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilmen Porter and Gay praised the PPG company. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke <br />and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />8. Council considered approving an Ordinance authorizing an agreement between the City <br />of La Porte and HTE, Inc, of Orlando, Florida, to Provide Police and Court Software <br />Applications; Appropriating $302,017.00 to fund said contract. <br /> <br />Director of Administrative Services Louis Rigby presented summary and <br />recommendation aDd answered Council's questions. Mr. Rigby introduced Mr. David <br />Plourde of HTE, Inc. that present information concerning the HTE software to Council <br />and answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 98-2285 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND <br />HTE, INC., OF ORLANDO, FLORIDA, TO PROVIDE POLICE AND MUNICIPAL <br />COURT SOFlW ARE APPLICATIONS; APPROPRIATING $302,017.00, TO FUND <br />SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to ap.,prove the Ordinance as read by the <br />City Attorney. Second by Council person Engelken.
