<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Council MeetiaJ 9.28.98 - Page 4 <br /> <br />JAIL SERVICE, FIRE PROTECTION, AND EMERGENCY AMBULANCE <br />SERVICE; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO <br />THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve the Ordinance as read by the <br />City Attorn~y. Second by Council person Gay. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Griffiths, Gay, Young, Clarke and <br />Mayor Malone <br />Nays: Councilman Porter <br /> <br />10. Council considered appointing a voting delegate and an alternate voting delegate to <br />National League of Cities Annual Congress of Business <br /> <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera presented summary and recommendation and <br />addressed Council's questions. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to appoint Councilman Gay as the <br />Votine: Dele,ate for the City of La Porte to the National League of Cities Annual <br />Congress of Cities. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to appoint Councilman Clarke as the <br />Alternate Votine: Delegate for the City of La Porte to the National League of Cities <br />Annual Congress of Cities. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Griffiths, Porter Gay, Young, Clarke and <br />Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />11. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br /> <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera reminded Council of the following events: <br /> <br />A. Tropical Storm Frances Report <br />B. La Porte Area Water Authority Bond Rating Visits <br /> <br />12.
