CALL 'JI'O ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Members of City Council Present: Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Chuck Engelken, <br />Howard Ebow, Peter Griffiths, Alton Porter, Deotis Gay, Charlie Young, Jerry Clarke <br />and Mayor Norman Malone. <br /> <br />Members of Council Absent: None <br /> <br />Members of City Executive Staff and City Employees Present: City Manager Robert <br />T. Herrera, Assistant City Manager John Joerns, Assistant City Manger Jeff Litchfield, <br />City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Martha Gillett, Director of Public Works <br />Steve Gillett, Director of Parks and Recreation Stephen Barr, Purchasing Agent Susan <br />Kelley, Assistant Chief of Police Aaron Corrales, Director of Administrative Services <br />Louis Rigby, Director of Planning Doug Kneupper, Golf Course Superintendent Dennis <br />Hlavaty, Assistant City Secretary Janis Goulder and Secretary II Dana Ybarra. <br /> <br />Others Present: Deacon Hector Cantu, Barry Bone, Spero Pomonis, David Schoolcraft, <br />Cleo Davnson, and Rachel Hampton, a number of La Porte Citizens. <br /> <br />2. The Invocation was delivered by Deacon Hector Cantu. <br /> <br />J. Council considered approving the minutes of the Regular Meeting October 26, 1998. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Counciloerson En~elken to ~prove the minutes of the Regular <br />MeetinlZ on October 26. 1998 as presented. Second by Councilperson Ebow. The <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />4. PETmONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND cmZENS AND <br />TAX PAYERS WISHING TO ADDRESS COUNCIL <br /> <br />David Schoolcraft, 1612 Underwood Rd., La Porte, Texas 77571 brought concerns <br />regarding the Inspection Department to the attention of City Council. <br /> <br />5. Council considered approving a Resolution designating a representative and an alternate <br />representative to serve on the Board of Directors of the Houston-Galveston Area <br />Council for the Year 1999 (Res. 98-14). <br />
