Second by Councilperson Clarke. <br /> <br />Councilperson Porter requested the Ordinance be approved with the stipulation that the <br />City make verbal contact with the owner. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Porter that the Ordinance be l\Pproved with the <br />amendment that the owner be contacted Drior to the actual condemnation of said <br />building. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The amended motion carried <br />unanimously. Council considered approving and authorizing a Joint Resolution ordering the <br />transferring the vitals records to Harris County Clerk. <br /> <br />City Secretary Martha Gillett presented the summary and recommendation information <br />and answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: RESOLUTION #98-17 - A JOINT RESOLUTION ORDERING <br />THE TRANSFERRING OF THE DUTIES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE <br />RELATING TO THE MAINTENANCE OF BIRTH AND DEATH RECORDS TO <br />THE COUNTY CLERK OF HARRIS COUNTY. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to approve Resolution 98-17 as read by <br />the City Attorney. Second by Council person Engelken. The motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />
