Herrera presented summary and recommendation to City <br />Council and addressed questions. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 98-08 - A RESOLUTION REQUESTING <br />LEGISLATIVE ACTION PRESERVING LOCAL GOVERNMENT AUTHORITY TO <br />SA VB T AXPA YER DOLLARS THROUGH COOPERATIVE PURCHASING <br />PROGRAMS. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 98-09 - A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING <br />ACTION PRESERVING LOCAL GOVERNMENT AUTHORITY TO SAVE <br />TAXPAYER DOLLARS THROUGH COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAMS. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve Resolutions as read by the City <br />Attorney. Second by Councilperson Sutherland. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone. <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />10. Council considered an Ordinance establishing a rate structure for the City of La <br />Porte Emergency Medical Service. <br /> <br />Joe Sease presented summary and recommendation and addressed Council questions. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 98-2273 - AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A <br />RATE STRUCTURE FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE EMERGENCY MEDICAL <br />SERVICE; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council person Engelken to approve the Ordinance as read by the <br />City Attorney. Second by Councilperson Sutherland. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone. <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />11. Council considered adopting a Traffic Hump Policy. <br /> <br />Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation and answered Council questions. <br />
