Seconded by Councilperson Ebow. The motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke and <br />Mayor Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilperson Griffiths. <br /> <br />12. Council considered approving an Ordinance vacating, abandoning and closing a portion <br />of the north Sib street right-of-way and remnants of the alleys in blocks 7A and 7D, <br />Nebraska Syndicate. <br /> <br />Planning Director Doug Kneupper presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered City Council questions. <br /> <br />City Attorney Read: ORDINANCE 98-2275 - AN ORDINANCE VACATING, <br />ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF THE NORTH 5TH STREET <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY AND REMNANTS OF THE ALLEYS IN BLOCKS 7A AND 7D, <br />NEBRASKA SYNDICATE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gay to approve the Ordinance as presented by City <br />Attorney. Seconded by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone. <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />13. Council considered naming a Steering Committee to work with the City's <br />Comprehensive Plan Consultant. <br /> <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera presented summary and recommendation. <br /> <br />Council agreed to take this item to Executive Session for discussion. <br /> <br />14. Council considered approving the proposed Amendment to the Lease Agreement <br />between the City of La Porte and Harris County Texas regarding Sylvan Beach Fishing <br />Pier <br />
