Council considered approving an ordinance approving the Tax Increment Reinvestment <br />Zone Guidelines. <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager John Joerns presented summary and recommendation. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 99-2328 - AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING TAX <br />INCREMENT REINVESTMENT ZONE GUIDELINES FOR THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Griffiths to approve the Ordinance as presented by <br />Mr. Joerns. Second by Councilperson Porter. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke, and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />8. Open Public Hearing - Mayor Malone opened the Public Hearing at 6:57 PM. <br /> <br />Review by staff - Director of Planning Doug Kneupper presented summary and <br />recommendation regarding a request to rezone lots 1 - 10 and 21 - 30, blocks 717, 718, <br />and 719 town of La Porte from general commercial (GC) to light industrial (LI). <br /> <br />Note: The Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously in favor at its meeting <br />held on May 20, 1999. <br /> <br />Public input - There were no citizens wishing to address council. <br /> <br />Recommendation of staff - Based on the Planning and Zoning Commission's <br />recommendation, staff recommends rezoning as requested, <br /> <br />Close public hearing - Mayor Malone closed the Public Hearing at 7:05 PM. <br /> <br />9. Council considered approving an ordinance regarding a request to rezone lots 1 - 10 and <br />21 - 30, blocks 717, 718, and 719 town of La Porte from general commercial (GC) to <br />light industrial (LI). <br /> <br />Director of Planning Doug Kneupper presented summary and recommendation. <br />
