Council considered approving an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with PBS&J Environmental Toxicology Lab to perform professional services for a Toxicity Reduction Evaluation (TRE) Program at the Little Cedar Bayou Wastewater Treatment Plant. Director of Public Works Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation. City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 99-2355 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND PBS&J ENVIRONMENTAL TOXICOLOGY LAB, TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR ESTABLISIDNG A TOXICITY REDUCTION EVALUATION (TRE); APPROPRIATING $33,425.00, TO FUND SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Council considered approving an ordinance authorizing an agreement between the City of La Porte and HTE, Inc., of Orlando, Florida, to provide Parks and Recreation software applications. Director of Parks and Recreation Stephen Barr presented summary and recommendation and answered questions for City Council. City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 99-2356 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND HTE, INC., OF ORLANDO, FLORIDA, TO PROVIDE PARKS AND RECREATION APPLICATIONS; APPROPRIATING $47,361.00, TO FUND SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
