MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING, <br />OF LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 81999 <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman Malone at 6:00 p.m. <br />Members of City Council Present: Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Chuck Engelken, <br />Howard Ebow, Peter Griffiths, Deotis Gay, Charlie Young, Jerry Clarke, and Mayor <br />Norman Malone. <br />Members of Council Absent: Councilperson Alton Porter. <br />Members of City Executive Staff and City Employees Present: Assistant City Manager <br />Jeff Litchfield, City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Martha Gillett, Director of <br />Public Works Steve Gillett, Chief of Police Richard Reff, Assistant Finance Director <br />Cynthia Alexander, Solid Waste Superintendent Phil Webb, Purchasing Agent Susan <br />Kelley, Clark Askins, and Humane Officer Clarence Anderson. <br />Others Present: Spero Pomonis, Colleen Hicks, Essie Chandler and a number of <br />citizens. <br />2. Councilperson Howard Ebow delivered the Invocation. <br />3. Council considered approving the minutes of the Regular Meeting and Workshop <br />Meeting on October 25, 1999. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Engelken to approve the minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting and Workshop Meeting as presented. Second by Councilperson Griffiths. The <br />motion carried. <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Gay, Young, Clarke, and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />4. PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CITIZENS AND <br />TAXPAYERS WISHING TO ADDRESS COUNCIL. <br />Spero Pomonis - 218 Bay Colony - Addressed the issue of junk cars. <br />5. Proclamations: <br />Mayor Malone presented the Proclamation for "La Porte Recycles Day" to Solid Waste <br />Superintendent Phil Webb. <br />
