Council considered approving an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute a <br />contract with Patak Construction, Inc. in the amount of $135.000.00 and further <br />authorizing $6,750.00 contingency for construction of the City of La Porte Record <br />Storage Facility <br />Director of Planning Doug Kneupper presented summary and recommendation. <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2000-2397 — AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE AND PATAK CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR CONSTRUCTION OF CITY <br />OF LA PORTE RECORD STORAGE BUILDING; APPROPRIATING $141,750 TO <br />FUND SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Engelken to approve ordinance 2000-2397 as <br />presented by Mr. Kneupper. Council considered approving an ordinance authorizing the sale of reserve "A". section 1, <br />Lot 9, Block 1 to Lazean Terrell for $3,800.00 <br />Purchasing Agent Susan Kelley presented summary and recommendation and answered <br />City Councils questions. <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2000-2398 — AN ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE SALE OF RESERVE "A", IN BLOCK 1, <br />OF SPENWICK PLACE, SECTION 1 HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, TO THE <br />HIGHEST BIDDER FOR CASH; AUTHORIZING EXECUTIVE OF A SPECIAL <br />WARRANTY DEED; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS <br />LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />
