Mayo:r Malone presented a Proclamation to Deborah Moseley and Deloris Tully <br />from the Bridge in recognition of April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. <br /> <br />B. Mayor Malone and EMS Chief Chris Osten presented Paramedic Lisa Camp with <br />the Employee of the Quarter Award for July, August, and September 1999. <br /> <br />6. Open Public Hearing - Mayor Malone opened the Public Hearing at 6: 15 PM. <br /> <br />Review by Staff - City Planner Brad Ellis presented summary and recommendations <br />concerning rezoning parts of Tract 8A, 8C, and 8E, Block 2 ofW.J. Payne Survey, part of <br />Tracts 8A, and 9A, of the W.J. Payne Survey, located in the 10000 Block of West Main <br />Street La Portl~, Harris County, Texas from High Density Residential (R-3) to General <br />Commercial (GC). <br /> <br />Public Input - No public input. <br /> <br />Recommendation of Planning and Zoning/Staff - Planning & Zoning and Staff <br />recommend rezoning parts of Tract 8A, 8C, and 8E, Block 2 ofW.J. Payne Survey, part <br />of Tracts 8A, and 9A, of the W.J. Payne Survey, located in the 10000 Block of West <br />Main Street La Porte, Harris County, Texas from High Density Residential (R-3) to <br />General Commercial (GC). <br /> <br />Close Public Hearing - Mayor Malone closed the Public Hearing at 6:25 PM. <br /> <br />7. Council considered approving an ordinance rezoning parts of Tract 8A, 8C, and 8E, <br />Block 2 ofW.J. Payne Survey, part of Tracts 8A, and 9A, of the W.J. Payne Survey, <br />located in the 10000 Block of West Main Street La Porte, Harris County, Texas from <br />High Density Residential (R-3) to General Commercial (GC). <br /> <br />City Planner Brad Ellis presented summary and recommendation and answered City <br />Council's questions. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2000-150 I-JJ - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1501, MORE COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE ZONING <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, BY CHANGING CLASSIFICA nON <br />OF THAT CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN DESCRIBED; MAKING <br />CERTAIN FnIDINGS OF FACT RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF; <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council person Ebow to approve Ordinance 1501-]] as presented by <br />Mr. Ellis. Second by Councilperson Sutherland.
