Council considered approving an ordinance appointing members to various boards, commissions, and committees, of the City of La Porte. Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong presented summary and recommendation. Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong read: ORDINANCE 2000-2408 - AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING MEMBERS TO VARIOUS BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES, OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson Young to approve the ordinance as presented. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried. Council considered approving an ordinance appointing members to the Civil Service Commission of the City of La Porte. City Manager Robert T. Herrera presented summary and recommendation. Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong read: ORDINANCE 2000-2409 - AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made bv Councilperson Engelken to approve the ordinance as presented. Second by Council person Gay. The motion carried. Council considered approving an ordinance authorizing an engineering agreement between the City of La Porte and Camp Dresser & McKey, to perform a Little Cedar Bayou Wastewater Treatment Plant Solids Handling study.
