Second by Councilperson Gay. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke, and Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />7. Council considered approving an ordinance authorizing an agreement between the City of <br />La Porte and the Bay Area Transportation Partnership, to provide transportation <br />management services for a one year term. <br /> <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera requested Councilman Clarke give summary and <br />recommendation. Mr. Clarke recommended Council not approve the ordinance renewing <br />the contract at this time due to lack of involvement with the City of La Porte. <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2000-2416 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVlNG AND <br />AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND THE <br />BAY AREA TRANSPORTATION PARTNERSHIP, TO PROVIDE <br />TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT SERVICES, FOR A TERM OF ONE YEAR; <br />MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE <br />SUBJECT; FINDlNG COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council person Clarke not to approve Ordinance 2000-2416 as <br />presented and withdraw from further participation with Bay Area Transportation <br />Partnership. Second by Councilperson Porter. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Griffiths, Porter, Gay, Young, Clarke, and Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />8. Council considered awarding a bid for chemical and fertilizers to Turf Industries, low <br />bidder meeting all specifications. <br /> <br />Dennis Hlavaty presented summary and recommendation. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Porter to award the bid as presented by Mr. Hlavaty. <br />Second by Councilperson Griffiths.
