Council considered awarding bid to the lowest bidder, Reliance Construction meeting the <br />specifications for an annual contract for sewer rehabilitation and authorize an additional <br />$10,000 for contingency. <br />Public Works Director, Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2497 — AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE AND RELIANCE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES, INC., FOR SANITARY <br />SEWER REHABILITATION, APPROPRIATING $ 123,802.00 PLUS A <br />CONTINGENCY OF $10,000.00; TO FUND SAID CONTRACT, MAKING VARIOUS <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT, FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Griffiths to approve Ordinance 2001-2497 as <br />presented by Ms. Wilmore Second by Councilperson Ebow. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br />City Manager Robert T. Herrera provided City Council with a report on Tropical Storm <br />Allison. Nine hundred eighty two homes in La Porte were damaged by the storm <br />12.
