City Council Minutes 6-25-01 — Page 3 <br />7. Council considered adopting an ordinance approving and authorizing a Banking Services <br />agreement with Southwest Bank of Texas for a term of three years with a two-year <br />renewal option and on a month -to -month basis thereafter. <br />Director of Finance, Cynthia Alexander presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2495 — AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A BANKING SERVICES AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND SOUTHWEST BANK OF TEXAS OF LA <br />PORTE, FOR A THREE YEAR TERM COMMENCING AUGUST 1, 2001, AND <br />TERMINATING JULY 31, 2004, AND ON A MONTH TO MONTH BASIS <br />THEREAFTER UNTIL TERMINATED BY THE CITY, MAKING VARIOUS <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT, FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Ebow to approve Ordinance 2001-2495 as presented <br />by Ms. Alexander. Second by Councilperson Griffiths. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Griffiths, Porter, EbowWarren, Young, and Clarke. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />8. Council considered approving an ordinance with Harris County to provide food <br />establishment surveillance services. <br />Chief Building Official, Debbie Wilmore presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2496 — AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND HARRIS COUNTY, FOR HARRIS COUNTY TO <br />PROVIDE FOOD ESTABLISHMENT SURVEILLANCE SERVICES TO THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO <br />THE SUBJECT, FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Warren to approve Ordinance 2001-2496 as <br />presented by Ms. Wilmore Second by Councilperson Young.
