• • <br />City Council Minutes 7-9-0 l -Page 3 <br />Public Works Director Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Engelken to approve the rate increase presented bX <br />Mr. Gillett. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Warren, Young, Clarke, and <br />Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None. <br />8. Chairman Betty Waters of the Planning and Zoning Commission was present. Council <br />allowed Ms. Waters to express concerns of the Board of Adjustments. Ms. Waters <br />requested council to allow Planning and Zoning Commission to review sections of the <br />zoning ordinances which concerns the Board of Adjustment, and recommend amending <br />any area that would make the Board of Adjustment more accessible to the citizens. Ms. <br />Waters also informed council as Chairman she would like to accomplish during her term <br />to create a new district in the Lomax area and try to retain the rural atmosphere. This will <br />require input from citizens as well the Planning and Zoning Commission to create this <br />new district. In closing Ms. Waters advised council that she would like this item brought <br />back to council for approval. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Porter to approve the requests presented by Ms. <br />Waters. Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Warren, Young, Clarke, and <br />Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None. <br />9. The special called workshop meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:43PM. <br />The following items were discussed during the workshop session: <br />A. Review Little Cedar Bayou Watershed Drainage Study <br />10. Workshop adjourned and the regular meeting re-convened at 7:08 PM. <br />11. Council considered approving a resolution restricting the development of certain parcels <br />of land intended to be acquired by the City (or others) for drainage improvement <br />purposes. <br />Planning Director D. Kneupper presented summary and recommendation and answered <br />Council's questions. <br />
