<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Council Minutes 8-13-01 - Page 5 <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2500 - AN ORDINANCE <br />V ACA TING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE ALLEYS IN BLOCKS 328 AND <br />329, TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, AND A PORTION OF THE <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY OF NORTH 2ND STREET, TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS <br />COUNTY, TEXAS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Young not to approve closing the alleys in Blocks <br />328 and 329 as presented by Mr. Kneupper Second by Councilperson Warren. The <br />motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Warren, Young, Clarke, and Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />12. Council considered approving a recommendation from the La Porte Redevelopment <br />Authority to fund a master watershed plan for land within the Tax Increment <br />Reinvestment Zone Number One and in Taylor Bayou Watershed. <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager John Joerns presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Griffiths to approve recommendation as presented <br />by Mr. Joerns Second by Councilperson Ebow. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Warren, Young, Clarke, and Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />13. Council considered approving the purchase of a Frazer Ambulance through HGAC in the <br />amount of $94,305.79. <br /> <br />Emergency Services Director Joe Sease presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilperson Ebow to approve the purchase of a Frazer <br />Ambulance as presented by Mr. Sease Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Warren, Young, Clarke, and Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />14. The workshop meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 7:08 PM. <br /> <br />The following items were discussed during the workshop session: <br /> <br />A. Discuss Curfew Ordinance <br />
