e e City Council Minutes 8-13-01 - Page 5 Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2500 - AN ORDINANCE V ACA TING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE ALLEYS IN BLOCKS 328 AND 329, TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, AND A PORTION OF THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF NORTH 2ND STREET, TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson Young not to approve closing the alleys in Blocks 328 and 329 as presented by Mr. Kneupper Second by Councilperson Warren. The motion carried. Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Warren, Young, Clarke, and Malone Nays: None Abstain: None 12. Council considered approving a recommendation from the La Porte Redevelopment Authority to fund a master watershed plan for land within the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Number One and in Taylor Bayou Watershed. Assistant City Manager John Joerns presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. Motion was made by Councilperson Griffiths to approve recommendation as presented by Mr. Joerns Second by Councilperson Ebow. The motion carried. Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Warren, Young, Clarke, and Malone Nays: None Abstain: None 13. Council considered approving the purchase of a Frazer Ambulance through HGAC in the amount of $94,305.79. Emergency Services Director Joe Sease presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. Motion was made bv Councilperson Ebow to approve the purchase of a Frazer Ambulance as presented by Mr. Sease Second by Councilperson Engelken. The motion carried. Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Warren, Young, Clarke, and Malone Nays: None Abstain: None 14. The workshop meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 7:08 PM.
