e e City Council Minutes 8-13-01 - Page 4 Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2503 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING; A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND PELTIER BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION, FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO LIFT STATION 40, APPROPRIATING $172,200.00 PLUS A CONTINGENCY OF $10,000.00, TO FUND SAID CONTRACT MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve Ordinance 2001-2503 as presented by Mr. Gillett Second by Councilperson Young. The motion carried. Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Warren, Young, Clarke, and Malone. Nays: None Abstain: None 10. Council considered approving an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to execute an Operator's Agreement between the City of La Porte and the La Porte Area Water Authority. Public Works Director Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. Motion was made by Councilperson Ebow to approve Ordinance 2001-2504 as presented by Mr. Gillett. Second by Councilperson Griffiths. The motion carried. Council considered approving an ordinance to vacate, abandon and close the alleys in Blocks 328 & 329, and to also authorize execution of a Street & Alley Closing Agreement with the applicant. Planning Director Doug Kneupper presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions.
