City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 2001-09 — A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, ADOPTING THE 2001 APPRAISAL ROLL OF THE HARRIS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT. Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve Resolution 2001-09 as presented by Ms. Alexander. Second by Councilperson Griffiths. The motion carried. Ayes: Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Warren, Young, Clarke, and Malone. Nays: None Abstain: None. 11. Council considered approving an ordinance establishing the tax rate for Fiscal Year 2001- 02 at .71 cents per hundred -dollar valuation. City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2507 — AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES UPON TAXABLE PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN AND SUBJECT TO TAXATION IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS; MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR SUPPORT, MAINTENANCE, AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE; FINDING THAT ALL REQUIRED NOTICES HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED AND ALL REQUIRED HEARINGS HELD; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson Griffiths to approve Ordinance 2001-2507 as presented by Ms. Alexander. Second by Councilperson Young. The motion carried.
