Council considered approval or other action regarding Ordinance 2001-2514 approving <br />and authorizing a contract between the City of La Porte and the City of Morgan's Point, <br />for emergency 911 dispatch and jail services, fire suppression services, and emergency <br />medical services. <br /> <br />Emergency Services Director Joe Sease presented summary and made a recommendation <br />and answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2514 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE AND THE CITY OF MORGAN'S POINT, FOR EMERGENCY 911 <br />DISPATCH AND JAIL SERVICES, FIRE SUPPRESSION SERVICES, AND <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Griffiths to approve Ordinance 2001-2514 as <br />presented by Mr. Sease. Second by Councilperson Young. There was further discussion <br />on the matter and Motion was made by Councilperson Porter to table the item until the <br />next City Council Meeting. Second by Councilperson Griffiths. <br /> <br />Ayes: Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Warren, Young, Clarke, and Malone. <br />Nays: Sutherland <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />14. Council considered approval or other action regarding Ordinance 2001-2515 approving <br />and authorizing a contract between the City of La Porte and the Port of Houston <br />Authority of Harris County Texas, for emergency medical services. <br /> <br />Emergency Services Director Joe Sease presented summary and made a recommendation <br />and answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2001-2515 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE AND THE PORT OF HOUSTON AUTHORITY OF HARRIS COUNTY, <br />TEXAS, FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES; MAKING VARIOUS <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Ebow to approve Ordinance 2001-2515 as presented <br />by Mr. Sease. Second by Council person Clarke.
