City Council Minutes 4-22-02 — Page 3 Motion was made by Councilperson Griffiths to approve Resolution 2002-24 adopting the "Year 2002 Parks and Open Space Master Plan for the City of La Porte, Texas" presented by Mr. Barr. Second by Councilperson Ebow. The motion carried. Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Griffiths, Warren, Young, Ebow, Porter, Clarke, and Malone Nays: None Abstain: None 9. Council considered approval or other action regarding Ordinance 2002-2549 for the purchase of the requested site from LPISD in the amount of $209,520.00. Director of Emergency Services Joe Sease presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2002-2549 — AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF APPROXIMATELY 1.23966 ACRES OF LAND FROM THE LA PORTE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, FOR THE RELOCATION OF FIRE STATION TWO; APPROPRIATING $209,520.00 FOR SAID PURCHASE; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson Engelken to approve Ordinance 2002-2549 as presented by Mr. Sease. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried. Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Griffiths, Warren, Young, Ebow, Porter, Clarke, and Malone Nays: None Abstain: None 10. Council considered approval or other action regarding Ordinance 1000-1-L and 1000-1-M on renewal of alcohol permits which amends the ordinance to include permits issued prior to the creation of Ordinance 1000-1. City Secretary Martha Gillett presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1000-1— AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 6, SECTION 6-78 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, BY ADDING AN AREA AT A RESTAURANT WHERE WINE AND/OR BEER FOR CONSUMPTION ON THE PREMISES MAY BE SOLD. Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve Ordinance 1000-1-L and 1000-1- M as presented by Mrs. Gillett. Second by Councilperson Ebow. The motion carried. Ayes: Sutherland, Engelken, Griffiths, Warren, Young, Ebow, Porter, Clarke, and Malone Nays: None Abstain: None 11. Council considered approval or other action regarding an Ordinance 2002-2550 appointing Municipal Court Judge and Alternate Judges.
