Council considered approval or other action regarding an ordinance establishing the rate <br />structure for the City of La Porte Emergency Medical Service. <br /> <br />Director of Emergency Services Joe Sease presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong read: ORDINANCE 2002-2575 - AN <br />ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A RATE STRUCTURE FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Griffiths to approve this ordinance as presented by <br />Mr. Armstrong. Second by Councilmember Meismer. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: Warren, Young, Meismer, Ebow, Beasley, Griffiths, Mosteit, Engelken and Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />17. Council considered approval or other action regarding an ordinance on the reporting <br />structure of the City Secretary. <br /> <br />Mayor Norman Malone presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's <br />questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong read: ORDINANCE 2002-2576 - AN <br />ORDINANCE FROM MAYOR AND COUNCIL RECOMMENDING THE CITY <br />SECRETARY AND SUBORDINATE STAFF REPORT DIRECTLY TO MAYOR AND <br />CITY COUNCIL PER SECTION 3.03 OF THE HOME RULE CHARTER OF THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Griffiths to approve this ordinance as presented by <br />Mr. Malone. Second by Councilmember Meismer.
