Consider approval to award bid #0868 for gasoline and diesel fuels in the amount of $258,173.20, Purchasing Manager Susan Kel1ey and Director of Public Works Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. Workshop was cal1ed to order by Mayor Malone at 6:38 p,m, Director of Administrative Services Carol Buttler provided direction to staff on how to proceed with an ordinance adopting Chapter 172 to be effective January 1,2003, This item was discussed regarding the pros and cons, and legal aspects; this will be brought back to Council. 15. Closed Workshop and reconvened Regular Meeting at 6:58 p,m. 16, Consider approval to adopt an ordinance authorizing redesign of the medical plan (Exhibit A), Director of Administrative Services Carol Buttler presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions, Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2002-2595 - AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING A CONTRACT AMENDING THE MEDICAL PLAN DESIGN, PROVIDED BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND ADMINISTERED BY THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE INTERGOVERNMENTAL EMPLOYEE BENEFITS POOL (TML-IEBP), TO BE EFFECTNE JANUARY 1,2003; AUTHORIZING FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECf; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTNE DATE HEREOF.
