MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING AND <br />WORKSHOP MEETING OF LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 11, 2002 <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman Malone at 6:00 p.m. <br />Members of City Council Present: Councilpersons Mike Mosteit, Chuck Engelken, Howard <br />Ebow, Peter Griffiths, Bruce Meismer, James Warren, Charlie Young, Barry Beasley and <br />Norman Malone <br />Members of Council Absent: None <br />Members of City Executive Staff and City Employees Present: Assistant City Attorney <br />Clark Askins, Acting City Manager John Joerns, City .Secretary Martha Gillett, Human <br />Resources Specialist Kendra Williams, Human Resources Office Assistant Cindy Gates, <br />Director of Administrative Services Carol Buttler, Public Works Director Steve Gillett, <br />Emergency Services Director Joe Sease, Human Resources Lorie Doughty and Police Chief <br />Richard Reff <br />Others Present: Krystle Clement, Ray Myers, Dave Turnquist, Nick Barrera, Rachel <br />Henderson, Jessica Holliday, A. J. France, Kathleen S. France, Jonathan Gonzalez, Kellie <br />Cornelius, Mike Barnett, Monica Barnett, Valerie Owens, Damaris Contreras, David <br />McCorquodale, Jessica Banks and a number of citizens. <br />2. Reverend Mary Harris of Glory Ministries delivered the invocation. <br />3. Mayor Norman Malone led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />4. Council considered approving the Minutes of the Special Called Meeting of La Porte City <br />Council on October 25, 2002 and the Minutes of the Regular Meeting and Workshop <br />Meeting of La Porte City Council held on October 28, 2002. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Warren to approve the minutes of the Special Called <br />Meeting on October 25 2002 and minutes of the Regular Meeting and Workshop Meeting <br />on October 28, 2002. Second by Councilperson Ebow. The motion carried. <br />Ayes: Mosteit, Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Beasley, Warren, Young, Meismer and Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />5. PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CITIZENS AND <br />TAXPAYTERS WISHING TO ADDRESS CITY COUNCIL <br />There were no petitions, remonstrances, communications, and citizens and taxpayers <br />wishing to address City Council. <br />
