Council to consider approval or other action of an ordinance executing an agreement with <br />Claunch and Miller, Inc. to provide professional engineering services for waterline <br />replacement in the amount of $42,565.00. <br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 2003-2608 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING AN ENGINEERING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE AND CLAUNCH & MILLER, INC., FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING <br />SERVICES FOR WATERLINE REPLACEMENTS; APPROPRIATING NOT TO <br />EXCEED $42,565.00 TO FUND SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Beasley to approve Ordinance 2003-2608 as presented <br />by Mr. Gillett. Council to consider approval or other action of authorizing the reappointment of Subsidence <br />District Board Member Jodi (Bobo) Norris as recommended by Mayor Norman Malone. <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Warren to approve the reappointment as presented by <br />Mayor Malone. Council to review the Dangerous Building Board of Inspection findings and then authorize a <br />public hearing for the purpose of condemning and ordering demolition of these structures. A <br />hearing date of February 10, 2003 is requested. <br />Chief Building Official Debbie Wilmore presented summary and recommendation and <br />answered Council's questions. <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Young to approve a Public Hearing, to be held on <br />February 10, 2003, for the purpose of condemning and ordering demolition of these <br />
