<br />1. CALL TO ORDER

<br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tern Barry Beasley at 6:00 p.m.

<br />2. Reverend Jack Womack of First United Methodist Church delivered the invocation.

<br />3. Mayor Pro Tern Beasley led the Pledge of Allegiance.

<br />4. Council to consider approval of Regular Meeting and Public Hearing Meeting Minutes held on June 14,2004.
<br />
<br />Motion was made by Councilmember Engelken to approve the Minutes as presented. Second by
<br />Councilmember Ebow. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Ayes: Engelken, Beasley, Moser, Mosteit, Young and Ebow
<br />Nays: None
<br />Abstain: None
<br />
<br />5. Council to consider approval or other action regarding an ordinance declaring the results of the election held
<br />on June 19,2004.
<br />
<br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins presented summary and answered Council's questions.
<br />
<br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 2004-2749 - AN ORDINANCE DECLARING
<br />THE RESULTS OF THE RUNOFF ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE ON JUNE 19,2004,
<br />FOR THE ELECITON OF A COUNCILPERSON DISTRICT 5; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE
<br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
<br />
<br />Motion was made by Councilmember Engelken to approve Ordinance 2004-2749 as presented by Mr. Askins.
<br />Second by Councilmember Moser. Motion carried.
