<br />City Council Regular Meeting and Workshop Meeting - June 28, 2004 - Page 4 <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilmember Moser to approve an exception from a Resolution to allow for filing and <br />issuance of building permits for reconstruction of a storage shed and concrete driveway as presented by Mr. <br />Finan. Second by Councilmember Ebow. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Mosteit, Engelken, Ebow, Rigby, Moser and Beasley <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />14. The Regular Meeting closed and the Workshop opened at 6:43 p.m. <br /> <br />A. Public Works Director Steve Gillett discussed the proposal to exchange maintenance responsibilities for <br />various streets within the City with Harris County Precinct 2 and provide staff with direction. It was the <br />consensus of City Council to move forward with this project. <br /> <br />B. Public Works Director Steve Gillett discussed amending Chapter 102, Natural Resources, Article IV, <br />Pipeline Transportation sections 102-231 through 102-264, inclusive, and amending fees associated with <br />the process. City Council requested additional information on fees. They want to ensure the new fees <br />cover all administrative costs. <br /> <br />15. The Workshop Meeting closed and the Regular Meeting reconvened at 7:11 p.m. <br /> <br />16. Council to consider approving an ordinance amending Chapter 102, Natural Resources, Article IV, Pipeline <br />Transportation Sections 102-231 through 102-265, inclusive, and amending fees associated with the process. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Steve Gillett gave the presentation and recommendation and answered Council's <br />questions. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 2004-2755 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 102, NATURAL RESOURCES, ARTICLE IV, PIPELINE TRANSPORTATION SECTIONS <br />102-231 THROUGH 102-265, INCLUSIVE, BY REPEALING CURRENT SECTIONS FOLLOWING; AND <br />FURTHER AMENDING APPENDIX A - FEES OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE, SECTION 102-264 BY REPEALING THE FEES ESTABLISHED HEREIN AND REPLACING <br />THEM WITH THE FOLLOWING; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE TERMS OF <br />THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEAMEANOR AND UPON <br />CONVICTION SHALL BE FINED IN A SUM NOT TO EXCEED TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS <br />($2,000.00) PER DAY; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION OF THE CAPTION HEREOF; CONTAINING <br />A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Councilmember Moser made the motion to table Ordinance 2004-2755. as presented by Mr. Gillett. until the <br />next City Council Meetin~. Second by Councilmember Engelken. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Moser, Rigby, Beasley, Mosteit, Engelken and Ebow <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />17. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br /> <br />Early Voting for Mayor and District 6 Special Election will be held at City Hall Council Chambers beginning <br />July 7, 2004 and ending on July 20, 2004 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and on Saturday, July 10,2004, at <br />City Hall Council Chambers from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and on Election Day, Saturday, July 24,2004, <br />from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />A Newly Elected City Officials' Orientation will be held Friday and Saturday, July 23 and 24,2004, and <br />Friday and Saturday, August 20 and 21,2004, in Austin, Texas. <br />
