<br />City Council Regular Meeting, puwearing and Workshop Meeting - septem.13, 2004 - Page 2 <br /> <br />B, Jay Dunham and a group of senior citizens presented Council with a Proclamation in honor of "The La <br />Porte Senior Services Center". They thanked Mayor and City Council for such a great facility, and <br />informed Council they appreciate the services provided, <br /> <br />s. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />A, Council to consider approval of the Minutes of the Regular Meeting and Public Hearings held on August <br />23, 2004. <br /> <br />B. Council to consider approval of an ordinance authorizing an agreement with Null Lairson for auditing <br />services for a one-year period (September 30,2004). <br /> <br />C. Council to consider adopting an ordinance amending Fiscal Year 2004-05 Budget for the Hotel/Motel <br />Occupancy Tax Fund for the one time transfer to the Sylvan Beach Fund for repairs on the pier. <br /> <br />D. Council to consider amending Ordinance No, 2001-2505 confirming appointments for the members of the <br />Civil Service Commission, <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Griffiths to table items C and D. and approve items A and B as <br />presented, Second by Councilmember Moser. Peter Griffiths withdrew motion and each item was discussed <br />and voted on independently, <br /> <br />A, Motion was made bv Councilmember Griffiths to approve Item A as oresented. Second by <br />Councilmember Moser. <br /> <br />Ayes: Beasley, Mosteit, Engelken, Moser, Rigby, Clausen, Porter and Griffiths <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />B, Councilmember Rigby had questions regarding this item. Motion was made by Councilmember Griffiths <br />to approve Items B as presented, Second by Councilmember Rigby. <br /> <br />Ayes: Beasley, Mosteit, Engelken, Moser, Rigby, Clausen, Porter and Griffiths <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />C.ID. Motion was made bv Councilmember Griffiths to table Items C and D as Dresented. Second <br />by Councilmember Moser, <br /> <br />Ayes: Beasley, Mosteit, Engelken, Moser, Rigby, Clausen, Porter and Griffiths <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />6. PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CITIZENS AND TAX PAYERS <br />WISHING TO ADDRESS COUNCIL ON ANY ITEM POSTED ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Norvell Cone of 1517 Garden Walk, Deer Park, Texas 77536 requested Item 10 be put back on the table to <br />move forward, so he can get on with his life. <br /> <br />Paul Hickenbottom of 521 South 3rd Street, La Porte, Texas 77571 voiced his concerns regarding the health <br />insurance changes, <br /> <br />7. Open Public Hearing - Mayor Porter opened the Public Hearing at 7:02 p.m. <br /> <br />Review by Staff - Interim Planning Director Wayne Sabo provided an overview of taking action on an <br />ordinance for 1.75 acres ofland located along Spencer Highway to rezone the property from R-l to GC for <br />proposed Fire Station No, 2 to be located at 9710 Spencer Highway. <br />
