Council to consider approval or other action regarding an Ordinance allow new applicant to sell beer and! or wine <br />at Runway Grill Restaurant. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read: ORDINANCE 1001-0- AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 6, SECTION 6-78 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE, BY ADDING AN AREA AT A RESTAURANT WHERE WINE AND/OR BEER FOR <br />CONSUMPTION OF THE PREMISES MY BE SOLD; FURTHER PROVIDNG A SAVINGS CLAUSE; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY <br />CLAUSE; ND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilmember Rigby to approve Ordinance 1001 0 as presented by City Secretary Martha <br />Gillett. Assistant City Manager John Joerns provided Mayor, Council and Staffwith a report of the Legislative Update. <br /> <br />He informed Council a final report from TML was received and a copy will be placed in the mail box. <br /> <br />The following legislative bills were discussed: <br /> <br />A bill placing fees on Municipal Courts to be returned to the State of Texas. <br /> <br />The disclosure of certain information of Council members relating to purchasing/conflicts.. <br /> <br />Civil Service bill whereby members may serve consecutive terms. <br /> <br />Weapons bill allowing certain weapons to be used on large acreage. <br /> <br />Developers costs and burden of proof on cities. <br /> <br />Pocket bikes prohibited on public streets. <br /> <br />Bill on 4B for cities under 20,000 in population. <br /> <br />15. Wayne Sabo provided Mayor, Council and Staffwith a report of the Large Lot Town Hall Meeting held on June <br />9, 2005. <br /> <br />16.
