<br />MINUTES O&GULAR MEETING AND WORKS. MEETING <br />OF THE LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />July 25, 2005 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Alton Porter at 6:04 p.m. <br /> <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Alton Porter, Councilmembers Chuck Engelken, Tommy Moser, Mike <br />Clausen, Peter Griffiths, Mike Mosteit, Louis Rigby and Howard Ebow. <br /> <br />Members of Council Absent: Barry Beasley. <br /> <br />Members of City Executive Staff and City Employees Present: City Manager Debra Feazelle, Assistant City <br />Manager John Joerns, Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins, Sgt. Gary Chastain, Judge Denise Mitrano, Assistant <br />Finance Director Michael Dolby, City Secretary Martha Gillett, Public Works Director Steve Gillett, Assistant <br />City Secretary Sharon Harris, Director of Planning Wayne Sabo, EMS Chief Ray Nolen, Purchasing Agent Susan <br />Kelley, Building Official Debbie Wilmore, City Robert Cummings, Greenskeeper Dennis Hlavaty, Assistant City <br />Manager Cynthia Alexander, Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Suggs, Emergency Services Intern Sara <br />Moore, Assistant Utilities Superintendent Ray Mayo and Assistant Fire Chief John Dunham. <br /> <br />Others Present: Judge Robert Eckels, Doug Adkinson, Carol Christensen of the Houston Chronicle, Sue Gale <br />Mock Kooken, Ronnie Holtz, Tracy Schmidt, Rusty Creed, Trent Wise, Spero Pomonis, Colleen Hicks, Barbara <br />Norwine, Mrs. Mayo, Pete Henderson, Mr. Nitcholas and other citizens and students. <br /> <br />2. Reverend LINDA WILSON of ST. JOHN'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH was not able to attend the meeting and deliver the <br />invocation. Mayor Porter delivered the Invocation. <br /> <br />3. Mayor Porter led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />4. PRESENTATIONS / PROCLAMATIONS <br /> <br />A. Mayor Porter and Councilmember Chuck Engelken presented a proclamation in honor of Douglas P. <br />Adkinson Day. <br /> <br />Douglas P. Adkinson was present to accept the proclamation. <br /> <br />B. Mayor Porter presented a proclamation in honor of Judge Robert Eckels Day. <br /> <br />Judge Robert Eckels was present to accept the proclamation. <br /> <br />B. Mayor Porter and Council member Tommy Moser presented a proclamation in honor of Girls's Softball <br />League Day. <br /> <br />Pete Henderson, Rusty Creed and Ronnie Holtz were present to accept the proclamation. <br /> <br />5. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />A. Consider approving Minutes of the Town Hall Meetings held on June 30, 2005 and July 7, 2005. <br /> <br />B.
