<br />City Council Regular Meeting - June 26, 2006 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />14. City Council discussed appointing a committee to study traffic at Ports in the near future. <br /> <br />A Councilmember suggested someone from the City Secretary's Office may need to attend <br />meetings and take notes. <br /> <br />Until a committee is appointed Councilmembers Mosteit and Moser will be available as <br />needed. <br /> <br />July 5t\ 2006 is the next meeting on Barbours Cut Blvd. problems, with trucking company <br />representatives and ILA. Additional meetings with Port of Houston and Harris County <br />continue. <br /> <br />15. Administrative Reports <br /> <br />City Manager Debra Feazelle reminded council City offices will be closed on Tuesday, July <br />4,2006 in observance ofIndependence Day and the July 4th Celebration Parade beginning at <br />North 8th & Main Street and Veterans Memorial at old City Hall located on 2nd Street. Ms. <br />Feazelle reminded Council of budget meetings to be held August 14 through 18. It was <br />noted safety committee is still working to improve safety program and had popcorn and soft <br />drinks at City facilities. The Code Enforcement positions are being filled and she reminded <br />Council this may generate additional phone calls and enforcement efforts will be increasing. <br />Lastly, she noted a meeting was held June 28th regarding Project Stars and Sylvia Garcia's <br />fundraiser will be supporting Project Starts this year since she did not have an opponent. <br /> <br />16. Council Comments <br /> <br />Rigby, Moser, Beasley, Griffiths, Ebow, Engelken, Mosteit, Clausen and Mayor Porter had <br />comments. <br /> <br />17. EXECUTIVE SESSION - PURSUANT TO PROVISION OF THE OPEN MEETINGS <br />LAW, CHAPTER 551.071 THROUGH 551.076, 551-087, TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE <br />(CONSULTATION WITH ATTORNEY, DELIBERATION REGARDING REAL <br />PROPERTY, DELIBERATION REGARDING PROSPECTIVE GIFT OR DONATION, <br />PERSONNEL MATTERS, DELIBERATION REGARDING SECURITY DEVICES, OR <br />EXCLUDING A WITNESS DURING EXAMINATION OF ANOTHER <br />WITNESS IN AN INVESTIGATION, DELIBERATION REGARDING ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT NEGOTIATIONS) <br /> <br />18. There were no executive sessions items. <br /> <br />19.
