Council to consider approval or other action approving of an ordinance authorizing a contract with Harris County <br />to accept a HOME grant award of $457,300; appropriating $42,202.69 as the City's match to construct five (5) <br />new homes as part of the affordable housing program as stated in the Northside Community Neighborhood Plan. <br />Planning Director Wayne Sabo presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read Ordinance 2936 — AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND HARRIS COUNTY <br />COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT FOR AN AWARD IN THE AMOUNT <br />OF $457,300.00 FROM HARRIS COUNTY COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />DEPARTMENT FOR FUNDING THE CITY OF LA PORTE'S HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP <br />(HOME) PROGRAM; APPROPRIATING A SUM OF UP TO $42,203.00 IN CITY MATCHING FUNDS TO <br />FURTHER THE CITY'S GOAL AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HERE OF. <br />Motion was made by Council member Moser to approve Ordinance 2936 as presented by Mr. Sabo.
