<br />Minutes of Regular Meeting, Public Hearing and Workshop of the La Porte City Council held on April 13, 2009 <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read Ordinance 3133, AN ORDINANCE APPROVING <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE RENAMING OF NORTHSIDE BALL FIELD TO DEOTIS GAY, <br />SR. MEMORIAL FIELD, MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING <br />TO THE SUNJECT, FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW, AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone returned to the table. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Moser to approve Ordinance 3133 as presented by <br />Mr. Porter. Councilmember Ebow seconded the motion. Motion carried <br /> <br />Ayes: Mosteit, Malone, Moser, Clausen, Engelken, Rigby, Black, Ebow and Porter <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />12. Council to consider approval or other action approving the Police Department to apply for <br />the 2009 Edwards Byrne Memorial Justice Recovery Grant (JAG Recovery) in the amount <br />of thirty four thousand eight hundred fifteen dollars ($34,815.00) - K. Adcox <br /> <br />Police Chief presented summary and recommendation and answered Council's questions. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Engelken to approve the application as presented by <br />Chief Adcox. Councilmember Malone seconded the motion. Motion carried <br /> <br />Ayes: Mosteit, Moser, Clausen, Engelken, Rigby, Black, Malone, Ebowand Porter <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />13. Receive report from Avalanche Consulting, Inc. on economic Development Strategic Plan <br />Efforts- R. Bottoms/A. Holloway <br /> <br />Mr. Bottoms presented a report summary and noted Amy Holloway of Avalanche <br />Consulting would be at a future meeting. <br /> <br />14. Mayor Porter closed Regular Meeting and opened Workshop Meeting at 8:07 p.m. <br /> <br />A. City Manager Mr. Bottoms discussed modifying regulations for the Women's <br />Substance Abuse Recovery Center <br /> <br />The representative was not available at the meeting to speak on this item, <br />therefore it was tabled until the next City Council Meeting. <br /> <br />S. Controller Phyllis Rinehart discussed a proposed Identity Theft Policy. <br /> <br />Council directed staff to move forward in the adoption of the Identity Theft Policy. <br />
