Minutes of Regular Meeting and Workshop Meeting of La Porte City Council on October 25, 2010 6 Absent: None 9. Consider approval or other action regarding arbitrage payment to Internal Revenue Service of $94,796.73 - M. Dolby Director of Finance Michael Dolby presented summary and recommendation and answered Councils' questions. Richard Fletcher with Arbitrage Compliance Specialist spoke regarding the arbitrage payment. Motion was made by Councilmember Enqelken to approve arbitraqe payment to Internal Revenue Service of $94.796.73 as presented by Mr. Fletcher. Second by Councilmember Leonard. Motion carried unanimously. Ayes: Engelken, Black, Martin, Leonard, Mosteit, Moser, Zemanek, Clausen and Mayor Rigby Nays: None Abstain: None Absent: None 10. Consider approval or other action regarding an ordinance amending Ordinance 1285 "Policeman's Civil Service", to change number of positions in rank classifications (Ord. 3294) - K. Adcox Police Chief Kenith Adcox presented summary and recommendation and answered Councils' questions. Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins read Ordinance 3294 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 1285, "AN ORDINANCE IMPLEMENTING POLICEMAN'S CIVIL SERVICE; ESTABLISHING CLASSIFICATIONS; NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED POSITIONS IN EACH CLASSIFICATION; ESTABLISHING PAY SCHEDULES", CONTAINING A SEVERABILTY CLAUSE; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilmember Enqelken to approve Ordinance 3294 as presented by Chief Adcox. Second by Councilmember Clausen. Motion carried unanimously.
