<br />Minutes of Regular Meeting, Public Hearing and Workshop Meeting of La Porte City Council on April 26, 2010 <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Leonard to approve the consent aqenda with an <br />amendment to the Meetinq Minutes showinq Mayor Barry Beasley callinq the meetinq to <br />order. Second by Councilmember Mosteit. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Engelken, Rigby, Moser, Leonard, Clausen, Mayor Pro Tem Black, Zemanek, <br />Mosteit and Mayor Beasley <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />6. Petitions, Remonstrance's, Communications, Citizens and Tax Payers wishing to address <br />Council on any item posted on the agenda (Limited to five minutes) <br /> <br />Phillip Hoot - 927 Seabreeze - addressed Council concerning a Dog Park at Old Happy <br />Harbor and Klein Retreat properties. He provided Council with a handout indicating an <br />estimated cost to do the project. <br /> <br />Anthony Villareal - 3903 Baracuda Ln. - addressed Council regarding Port of Houston <br />concerns with residents in the south end of town. He had questions regarding fine <br />amounts. <br /> <br />Leslie Guzman - 403 N. Shady Lane - addressed Council and asked for help with Port of <br />Houston noise and pollution omissions in the South end of town. In addition, she inquired <br />if they would be eligible for the same program that citizens living near the Barbours Cut <br />Terminal received. She also suggested the City files be better organized for public review. <br /> <br />Gary Nixon - asked City officials to get involved with Port of Houston matters to help <br />citizens with Port issues affecting the residents in the south end of town. He also asked for <br />assistance with 4-wheelers and motorcycles speeding on North and South Shady Lane. <br /> <br />Patricia Ayers - 3807 Sailfish Lane - addressed Council with concerns with the Port of <br />Houston and residents in the south end of town. <br /> <br />Ted Powell - 1700 Roscoe - addressed Council with concerns regarding recent <br />discussions about internal audits at the City Council Retreat. <br /> <br />Kathryn Aguilar - 3119 Fondren - addressed Council with concerns regarding recent <br />discussion about internal audits at the City Council Retreat. She informed Council she <br />would still like to see a real estate forensic audit on the matters she is currently questioning <br />about real estate transaction involving the Five Points Project. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Black left the table during the discussion and action on item 7. <br />
