Minutes of Regular Meeting and Budget and Budget Workshop Meeting of the La Porte City Council held on <br />August 9, 10 & 11, 2010 Page 7 <br />Fire Station 1 — The design cost will be $250,000. $4,500,000 dollars will be placed in the <br />CIP Projects for this project. The funds will be marked for the Fire Station but in case of an <br />emergency could be used for something else. <br />Director of Parks and Recreation Stephen Barr provided Council with an overview and <br />map of the mowing plan. <br />City Manager Ron Bottoms informed Council there will be $40,000.00 placed in the budget <br />for the Northside Housing Plan. Planning Director Tim Tietjens provided an overview and <br />a handout. Council directed staff to move forward. <br />Bulkhead at Golf Course — $360,000 will be placed in the budget to do 5,000 linear feet to <br />be split between the City and the Development Corporation Board. <br />Baseball Association Request — council was advised the safety and maintenance issues at <br />Pecan Park were being addressed. The wish list items will need to be put off until the <br />future. <br />Upgrades in City Secretary's Office — City Manager Ron Bottoms advised he would look at <br />those positions along with other positions in the City. He informed Council this process is <br />normally done in the spring of the year with a market analysis and internal analysis done at <br />that time. <br />Lump Sum Raises — Council directed staff not to proceed with lump sum raises. They <br />were directed to continue the merit plan as it exists. <br />Engineer Management Position in Planning — Planning Director Tim Tietjens provided <br />Council with an overview of why he needs this position. Council advised staff they could <br />move forward with this position as a Sr. Engineer who will also produce engineering work. . <br />City Attorney's insurance discussion — City Manager Ron Bottoms informed Council this <br />would be placed on the August 23rd Council Meeting to be discussed in Executive Session. <br />7. Close Workshop Meeting and Open Regular Meeting at 7:13 p.m. <br />8. Administrative Reports <br />City Manager Ron Bottoms provided Administrative Reports for the following: <br />August 9 -13, 2010 — City Council Meeting/Budget Workshop Meetings <br />Early Voting for Special Called Elections — August 11, 2010 — August 24, 2010 — 8:00 a.m. <br />— 5:00 p.m. extended hours for Early Voting will be Wednesday, August 18, 2010 — 7:00 <br />a.m. — 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, August 24, 2010 — 7:00 a.m. — 7:00 p.m. Early Voting on <br />Saturday, August 21, 2010 — 8:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m. <br />
