Minutes of Regular Meeting and Budget and Budget Workshop Meeting of the La Porte City Council held on <br />August 9,10 & 11, 2010 Page 6 <br />Wants to further discuss Fire Station 1 <br />Wants to discuss the Metro Bus Service and is in favor of continuing. <br />Wants to discuss items brought up by other Council Members. <br />Black: <br />Wants to continue Metro Bus Service. <br />Wants to discuss housing on the North Side. <br />Good list of items to discuss brought up by other Council Members. <br />Leonard: <br />Wants to discuss raises and noted he is not in favor of lump sums <br />Would like to discuss insurance options and the Chapter 172 discussion options that would <br />maintain the current options/doctors provided to employees. <br />Would like to discuss insurance issues. <br />Council recessed at 8:43 p.m. on 8/10/10 <br />Council reconvened at 6:00 p.m. on 8/11/10. <br />Assistant City Manager John Joems provided an overview of the TIRZ budget. <br />General discussion was held on the topics Council noted they wanted to discuss in the <br />meeting last evening. <br />Metro Bus Service — Ron Bottoms provided an overview of the bus route. Mr. Bottoms <br />informed Council the City of Pasadena has backed out and this make it cost prohibitive for <br />La Porte to participate. <br />Funds received to date from donations on the water bill total $2,400.00. it was suggested <br />these fund be used for a beautification project. <br />Shelley Wolny provided an overview of the request from Councilmember Rigby regarding <br />the manual raise calculation. Mr. Rigby thanked her and advised he thought the amount <br />would have been larger. <br />Staff was directed to bring forward the quarter cent sales tax in May of next year. <br />
