Barbara Norwine, 202 S. Lobit, addressed Council in favor of removing the City of La Porte truck <br />route on W. Main Street from 16th Street to Underwood Rd. but stated the trucks do need to be able <br />to get around the City to carry goods. <br />6. CONSENT AGENDA (All consent agenda items are considered routine by City Council and will be enacted <br />by one motion. Ms. Valiante responded yes. <br />Councilmember J. Martin moved to approve the Consent Agenda items pursuant to staff <br />recommendations. Councilmember Engelken seconded. MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY 9/0. <br />7. PUBLIC HEARING AND ASSOCIATED ORDINANCES <br />(a) Public hearing to receive comments regarding the La Porte Fire Control, Prevention and <br />Emergency Medical Services District's proposed budget for the fiscal year which begins <br />October 1, 2016, as approved by the Board of Directors of the District at its meeting held on <br />June 23, 2016; consider approval of proposed budget of La Porte Fire Control, Prevention <br />and Emergency Medical Services District — D. Ladd <br />The public hearing opened at 6:23 p.m <br />Assistant Fire Chief Donald Ladd presented a summary of the La Porte Fire Control, Prevention <br />and Emergency Medical Services District's proposed budget for FY 2016/2017. <br />Councilmember J. Martin asked if there is an estimate for revenues. Finance Director Michael <br />Dolby responded it is around $1 million. <br />Mayor Rigby asked why the replacement ambulance is not coming out of the Motor Pool <br />Replacement Fund. Mr. Ladd responded the ambulance will be funded by the Board. <br />There being no public comments, the public hearing closed at 6:38 p.m. <br />Councilmember Engelken moved to approve the proposed budget of La Porte Fire Control, <br />Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District for the fiscal year which begins October 1, <br />2016. Councilmember Zemanek seconded.
