Councilperson Bentley moved to <br />adopt the consent agenda, less item b: the motion was seconded by Councilperson Engelken: the <br />motion was adopted. 9-0. <br />Councilperson Garza moved to postpone item b to the November 8, 2021, Council meeting: the <br />motion was not seconded and was not considered. Mayor Pro Tern Martin moved to approve <br />Resolution 2021-62 to join as a party with the State of Texas and participating political subdivisions <br />in the Texas Onioid Settlement Agreement secured by the Texas Attorney General and authorizing <br />the City Manager to execute all related documents and that any funds received would be allocated <br />to opioid prevention for citizens of La Porte: the motion was seconded by Councilperson Bentley: <br />the motion was adopted. 8-1. Councilperson Garza voting against. <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND ASSOCIATED ORDINANCES <br />a. The City Council will hold a public hearing to receive comments regarding a <br />recommendation by the Planning and Zoning Commission to adopt Ordinance 2021-3847, <br />amending the City's Future Land Use Map Component of the Comprehensive Plan for an <br />approximately 5.4-acre tract of land located at the 800 Block of McCabe Road, legally <br />described as Part of Tract 5E, Abstract 30, WP Harris Survey, Harris County, Texas, by <br />changing the land use designation from "Low Density Residential" to "Mid -High Density <br />Residential"; followed by discussion and possible action to consider adopting Ordinance <br />2021-3847, amending the City's Future Land Use Map Component of the Comprehensive <br />Plan for an approximately 5.4-acre tract of land located at the 800 Block of McCabe Road, <br />legally described as Part of Tract 5E, Abstract 30, WP Harris Survey, Harris County, Texas, <br />by changing the land use designation from "Low Density Residential" to "Mid -High Density <br />Residential". [Teresa Evans, Planning and Development Director] <br />Mayor Rigby opened the public hearing at 6:38 p.m. Planning and Development Director Teresa <br />Evans provided a presentation for the SCUP and the FLOP. There were no public comments and <br />Donna Boudreaux of PALT, Inc., the applicant, answered Council questions. Mayor Rigby closed <br />the public hearing at 7:01 p.m. Mayor Pro Tern Martin moved to adopt 2021-3847, amending the <br />City's Future Land Use Map Component of the Comprehensive Plan for an approximately 5.4-acre <br />tract of land located at the 800 Block of McCabe Road, legally described as Part of Tract 5E, <br />Abstract 30, WP Harris Survey, Harris County.
